Paw Patron Program 

 

What is the Pointers Paw Patron Program?

The “Pointers Paw Patron Program” is a fundraising drive designed to help defray the cost of the many activities and programs sponsored and run by the Pointers Run Elementary School (PRES) PTA. We have heard from many families that they prefer writing one check to support their children instead of selling candles, gift wrap, cookies, etc. In fact, this program was so successful in the past that we plan to eliminate all other fundraising. In addition to your membership, we are asking families for a minimum donation of $50 per child (beyond the membership dues) to support our kids and maintain our current level of programming. The best part is 100% of your money stays at PRES, your donation is tax-deductible, and you don’t have to sell anything!


Why should I support the PRES PTA with a donation?

The school taxes we all pay to Howard County cover only the basic needs of PRES. Our PTA steps in to fund additional educational and enrichment programs that are not covered. Without your support we may lose some of these programs. We need your support to make sure this does not happen!

What is the goal?

The fundraising goal this year is $30,000.

 

 

How do I support my child with a donation?

You can donate by sending a check to school made out to “PRES PTA” or by credit card (via PayPal – no account required) at www.pointersrunpta.org. Levels of recognition are Bronze Paw at $1-$49, Silver Paw at $50-$99, Gold Paw at $100-$149 and Platinum Paw at $150 or above. Keep in mind, many companies offer a Corporate Match for charitable donations, meaning your $50 donation becomes $100 for PRES!

 

 

What if this doesn’t fit into our budget?

We understand that back to school costs can be considerable and we realize budgets can be tight. We respect everyone’s financial situation and ask that you only donate what you can. The $50 per child is a suggested tax-deductible donation and any amount helps. Please keep in mind, this is our sole fundraising effort this year. Thank you in advance for your support!


Do we have a match?

Many employers sponsor matching gift programs that match charitable contributions made by their employees. Ask your Human Resource Department or other employer representative if they offer a matching donation benefit. Forward any required paperwork to Cindy Newman at president@pointersrunpta.org.

 

 

PRES PTA is a 501(c)(3) organization. Donations are tax deductible to the extent permitted by law.
